The Rossiter System was developed by Richard Rossiter, who is a Certified Advanced Rolfer.

He had shoulder problems himself, which continued throughout his career as a helicopter pilot both with the US military and as a civilian.  He tried a number of therapies, but did not get any significant relief form his pain until he went through Rolfing sessions.  It was this that inspired him to enter the Rolf Institute to train as a Rolfer.

Shortly after starting his Rolfing practice, he treated a local neurosurgeon for back pain and helped him, which led to many referrals from him.

However, Rossiter felt that although Rolfing was extremely good for working with chronic problems, it was not so good in acute situations, so The Rossiter System was developed over time to help these more acute conditions.

It was designed as a system to get people out of pain fast, by re-creating the originally designed space in the body.

The Rossiter System is a two person stretching technique which allows you to stretch out those areas that other stretches and exercices just don’t reach.  It is powerful, innovative and unique and addresses the cause of pain.

The Rossiter System consists of 2 people; firstly, the person receiving the treatment, known as the PIC or Person in Charge and secondly, a Certified Rossiter Practitioner or Coach.  The Practitioner/Coach will use their feet to take the PIC through a series of powerful active assisted stretches designed to create space in contracted fascia/connective tissue.  

It is an extremely effective treatment for helping with injuries and tight muscles generally, thus allowing relaxation and greater freedom of movement.

This depends on how long you have been in pain.
