Rolfing – The 10 Series

The first three sessions of the 10 series are known as ‘Sleeve Sessions’, as they begin to free the superficial fascial layers, in order to prepare the body for the ‘deeper’ work that takes place in sessions 4, 5, 6 and 7. Sessions 8, 9 and 10 are integration sessions.
Sessions normally last 75 minutes, with each session building on the previous one, so that by the end of 10 sessions, the whole body has been worked on.
You may continue to notice changes in your body following your sessions, as the work continues to integrate. You should therefore leave a gap of at least 3 to 6 months before receiving further Structural Integration work.
BENEFITS INCLUDE:
- Improved posture
- Increased flexibility
- Easier movement
- Reduction/resolution of pain
- Less tension in the body
- More energy
- Improved sleep
- Calmer mind

Rolfing – The 3 Series

The Rolfing 3 Series gives you a taster of what a full 10 Series will be like.
It exists for people who are unable to make a commitment to the full 10 Series of sessions for whatever reason, but still derive benefit from the work.
The work itself remains the same, however, the goals of the sessions may differ from a full series, although Rolfing is still looking to provide space in the body in places where it has been lost and allow the fascial tissues to open out and glide along one another.
The first session will focus on working with the ribcage to release any restrictions and free the breathing, with the second session focussing on the feet and lower legs to create a stable base to support the pelvis. The third session will work the side of the body from the hip and then the ribcage and the shoulder girdle. All these sessions finish with neck work, a pelvic lift and then back work on a Rolfing bench to help you integrate the work.
It is possible to repeat a 3 Series at 3 to 6 months intervals up to 2 times before a full 10 Series will be recommended.
